Yes, tax receipts will be sent to the email provided when filling out our online donation form. If you do not receive your tax receipt within 48 hours, and have already checked your junk folder, please reach out to donations@nyws.ca to have your receipt reissued. 

Consolidated tax receipts for recurring gifts will be emailed  at the end of the tax year, ahead of the April deadline.  

North York Women’s Shelter values transparency regarding the allocation of your donation. Approximately 84.3% of any contribution goes directly to supporting the needs of survivors living in our shelter. The holiday wishlist represents current needs at North York Women’s Shelter, however, needs change on a regular basis depending on the structure and situation of each family who arrives through our doors. We may deliver more or less of a given item to ensure holiday programming aligns with the real needs of our residents.  

Cheque donations, if preferred, can be mailed to our administrative office. Please contact us at donations@nyws.ca to request our mailing address. We encourage the use of our online form wherever possible to ensure that your gift can be received and put to good use in a timely manner, especially given the ongoing uncertainty of Canada Post’s services.
