Every child deserves to feel the wonder of the holidays; the sparkle of hope, the joy of playing, and the warmth of a loving community.  

North York Women’s Shelter provides a space for women, trans and non-binary folks escaping gender-based violence, as well as their children and pets. We’ve shaped our services around welcoming children of all ages and genders.   

Giving the gift of a toy this holiday season could bring smiles, laughter and a moment of normalcy to a child staying in our shelter alongside their parent. From a simple toy, like a doll or a puzzle, comes the symbol of hope, safety, and resilience for a family who has survived violence.
