As winter approaches, the cold can become an additional source of stress and discomfort for families escaping violence; especially for the many newcomers or refugees who arrive through our shelter doors having never experienced a Canadian winter before. Being warm and protected during winter is a necessity for everybody, but winter coats, boots, scarves, hats and gloves can be prohibitively costly for vulnerable families living in shelter. 

North York Women’s Shelter recognizes the necessity of warmth and comfort for families living in our shelter.

Your donations will support the purchase of winter clothes, blankets and necessary protective outerwear to ensure families are safe from the cold.
