When people think of giving to a women’s shelter, they often picture cheques, fundraisers, or one-time donations. There’s a kind of gift that’s quieter, more tactile, and deeply human: Gifts-in-kind (aka, the clothes, supplies, and everyday essentials that fill our donation room, and hearts, with care).

Let’s be clear: this isn’t “extra.” This is survival.

At NYWS, when someone donates a warm coat, a bottle of shampoo, or a full-size pack of diapers, they’re not just giving stuff. They’re giving dignity. Relief. A sense of being seen.

American Air and Black Professional Network

The American Air and Black Professional Network made a meaningful impact through a recent donation drop to NYWS. The care and intention behind both the chosen items and the impact of their visit to NYWS were immediately felt. NYWS extends sincere gratitude for meeting urgent needs with authenticity and heart.

La Vie en Rose

La Vie en Rose demonstrated deep understanding of survivor needs by donating sleepwear for clients at NYWS. Often overlooked, sleepwear can restore dignity, confidence, and a sense of normalcy to individuals rebuilding their lives. This thoughtful contribution was both practical and profoundly affirming. The Birthday Angel
