About our Services
The Anne Marie D'Amico Community Collective offers wrap around services to survivors within the North York community who have or are experiencing violence.
There are many barriers women and gender-diverse survivors face in accessing services within our community that our Community Collective intends to address, including:
Trauma informed support that makes services accessible to populations that are often denied service (eg. Folks living with disabilities, marginalized due to gender identity, newcomers etc.)
Having multiple services offered in one place in order to reduce the stress of travel throughout North York or Toronto
Support in navigating these complex systems so that survivors are given appropriate referrals and knowledge as to where to access support.
Trauma-Informed Community Health Clinic
We have partnered with Black Creek Community Health to support our primary health care clinic, operating out of the Anne Marie D’Amico Community Collective. This clinic will support shelter residents and community members seeking support services after GBV. This clinic provides medical care, harm reduction support, counselling, system navigation, and wellness supports.
Transitional Housing Support
Shelter residents and community members seeking GBV services can access our transitional housing program, supporting families in their search and application for appropriate, safe and long-term accommodation, and providing ongoing support for around 6 months after leaving NYWS. This program is a pivotal step in ensuring families remain safe from gender-based violence; without housing options, they are at risk of returning to their perpetrator.
