In anticipation of the shelter re-opening later this year, all shelter programming is currently being evaluated and restructured to ensure that NYWS will be providing the best trauma-informed services to our residents and the community.
We are currently doing the important work of improving our case management and intake models, revamping our food program and crafting a child and youth program that focuses on play and art. Alongside the redesign of our current programs, we’re building a new pet program and incorporating accessibility into all aspects of programming in a way that the old building would never allow. In our ongoing efforts to ensure our services are survivor-centric, we are also developing a comprehensive monitoring and evaluations platform so that we can continually adapt our services and programming to meet the needs of the women and children we serve.
